The aim of Knowmore.org is to raise awareness of corporate abuse, and to serve as a catalyst for direct action against corporate power.

Ethical Consumerism is an important movement toward corporate reform, through which individuals recognize their own role in systems of oppression, and take personal steps toward resistance and  positive change.

However, the problem of unchecked corporate power is systemic and goes far beyond the scope of any single boycot or campaign.

While France has been slow to open its own doors to competition in the utilities industry, state-owned Electricité de France (EDF) has been quick to expand into global deregulated markets. One of the world's top electric utilities (as well as one of the last major state-owned energy monopolies in Europe), EDF has a generating capacity of more than 128,190 MW and provides power to 28.2 million French customers and 9.6 million customers in other European countries. The company also operates power plants that generate 20,000 MW of capacity in Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East.
